My daughter Selina made a cool new video that pretty much goes over one of her surface pattern design portfolios.
Take a peek !
I am proud of her...so young....so talented!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you love Instagram... I do...I am kinda addicted to it....so much inspiration and tons of fun talking to people too!
Come check out my Instagram page...full of fun photos, ideas, patterns, and more!
I shared this week my new watercolor fabric design!
Lots of soft colors and pretty posies.
Usually watercolors have hundreds of shade of colors in each piece of artwork...and fabric can only have 15-18 colors at the most.  But I learned how to reduce it to 15-18 colors and still have a watercolor look to it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
My sale pattern for the week is....
St. Patrick's day ornaments and banner pattern #353.
Let your love of green show this St. Patrick's day! These chenille stem ornaments have a vintage flair...plus they are fun, easy, and quick to make. All the artwork for 8 different designs and banners are included!
(This sale pattern is for individual use, not classes....it is a digital download)

Happy Weekend...lucky

Lucky is already enjoying his weekend...lounging on my quilt.
He enjoys everyday however...lol.
This is his favorite quilt from Mary Jane farms.
When I switch it to something else he is kinda mad.
This one is super soft.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you haven't seen my little mini video...its kinda fun...
I take a pic of my drawing....lock it in a layer on the computer then draw/trace over your drawing and make it pretty.
I was just pushing the 1st layer on and off so you could see the original and then how it will look as a finished design.
I love mixing goofing around with pencil....erase...make mistakes...but then when I retrace it really looks nice, clean and precise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am just starting to put some of my surface pattern designs on spoonflower....

This is my shop page....you may have to click on the pic to make it larger.

These are some of the designs that will be available... after my test swatches come back.

Pansies....my favorite flower!
This one has a different background and the colors are slightly different on the pansies too.
I am going to keep adding to spoonflower this week.

My daughter has designs on spoonflower too....she has the swatches back from hers.

Here is one of her designs....woodland critters!
We are both working on some projects we can't reveal right now...wish we could cause it is so exciting to post new thing....but it will come later.

I've been painting again....
I wanted to paint something cheerful and springy...so tired of snow and ice. This is a large 16 x 20.
I started with a canvas of old book pages, and then drawing out my ideas... loosely.  I then started to paint some base items but wipe away some paint so you can see the book pages too.
I think it is important when layering to make sure you don't over do the paint.
Here I am adding a vase for the flowers.
Little by little things are coming together....a yellow bird, more flowers and a table top.
Adding some details....
The vase needed some excitement...lol.
I stenciled some bricks too.
I added more details ...including a banner in the birds mouth.

I used colored pencils and pastels too....with shades of paint to give depth.
Here is a closeup of the bird part.
This was really fun and I always am really happy I took time away from other projects to do this....sometimes you need a break from all the usual stuff.
